Victor Valley College Associated Student Body explains Measure JJ

Victor Valley College is the primary source of training for many of the highest demand industries in the High Desert and the most accessible path for local students to pursue degree programs. VVC has served our communities for nearly 50 years and has had only one general obligation bond in its history which was used to build the first and oldest buildings on the campus. This was paid off decades ago. All indications are that surrounding communities will continue to grow, placing higher demands on the college for educational services that will require both more and more specialized public safety and workforce training facilities.

The college budget does not provide for construction of new facilities and state dollars are not available to meet our local demand. The state budget continues to be in crisis and funds to education continue to be cut. We must find our own local solutions.

Citizens to Build Victor Valley College invite you to join us in supporting the Public Safety, Health Care, Job Training Measure with your vote. YES on Measure JJ will provide the resources needed to grow our college so that we will continue to have access to the education and job training we need to thrive in this or any economy.

Our community needs the college to keep our High Desert competitive. -- Thomas K. Riding, Victorville Resident
